Herbert Wigwe, Access bank boss, alongside his wife, son and five others died after the chopper transporting the CEO of Access Holdings crashed in California, United States on Friday night.
According report, the chopper was headed to Las Vegas when it crashed near a border city between Nevada and California on Friday night.
Abimbola Ogunbanjo, the group chairman of Nigerian Exchange Group Plc (NGX Group) was also in the helicopter when it crashed.
As of Saturday morning, New York Times reported that no survivors had been found, according to the officials.
Also, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department in a statement disclosed that no survivor has been found.
The sheriff’s department statement read: “We were made aware of a downed aircraft at approximately 10:12 p.m., on February 10, 2024. The scene of the crash was determined to be east of the 15-Freeway, near Halloran Springs Road,” .
The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) identified the aircraft as a Eurocopter EC 130.
As of the time this report was documented the cause of the air crashed was yet to be ascertained.
