Following the swearing-in of President Tinubu in Abuja on Monday, the new president makes his first appearance at the Aso Villa on Tuesday afternoon as he assumes office.
President Tinubu reportedly arrived the forecourt of the Aso Villa at 2:30pm on Tuesday, barely 24 hours after his inauguration as President.
The President was received by Vice President Kashim Shettima and some other senior government officials, including Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila and the Permanent Secretary of the State House, Tijjani Umar.
Also present were the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Godwin Emefiele; the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) Mele Kyari; former Lagos Commissioner for Finance, Mr Wale Edun; Mr Dele Alake; Hon. James Faleke.
Minutes before his entrance, the new Commander-in-Chief reportedly inspected the Quarter Guard at the presidential gate.
Meanwhile, it is alleged that after his first meeting today, the presidency would announce key principal officers of the new administration including his Chief of Staff, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, National Security Adviser and Spokesperson.
It was also gathered that President Tinubu would be meeting with the NNPCL Boss, Kyari and Emefiele, on his arrival at the office, supposedly over the brewing fuel crisis.
