In the heat of the afternoon towards evening at about 3 pm, on Friday, 20 October, 2023, suspected armed robbers invaded Otukpo, Benue State, where many are reported to have been killed and others injured in the attack.
The gunmen invaded Zenith Bank and several other bank In Otukpo with sporadic shooting, leaving the residents in fear.
Sunday Abah who witnessed the incident, expressed concern over the prolonged attack which lasted for hours without the intervention of the security agency.
According to him, “the armed robbers were targeting Zenith Bank during the attack.”
As at the time of filing this report, effort to reach the Benue State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Catherine Anene Sewuese, proved futile.
