A final-year student of Taraba State varsity from the Faculty of Health Science Department of Medical Laboratory, Abdulrashid Ibrahim has reportedly been stabbed in the neck on Friday 10, by a stranger who he met sleeping inside the university mosque
Taraba State Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Usman who confirmed the incident said, “On November 10, 2023, at about 9:15 am, information was received from the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Sunkani, the administrative headquarters of Ardo-Kola, that one Abdulrashid Ibrahim, a student of the university, was stabbed by a suspect, Abdullahi Babangida Ahmed.”
According to the PPRO, the victim reportedly met the suspect sleeping inside the university mosque and asked questions about his mission inside the mosque
An altercation erupted between the two of them, leading to the suspect stabbing the student in the neck with a knife.
Usman confirmed that the victim was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Jalingo, before the arrival of police officers.
“The suspect was arrested and the commissioner of police has ordered a clinical investigation into the case to unravel the motives behind his presence on the university premises,” the PPRO stated.
